Today, Afro-fusion star Omah Lay released an extended deluxe version of his  Boy Alone album through KeyQaad Records. The stacked version features six new tracks, including the meditative "why" and an Ozuna-assisted remix of the viral hit "soso". But that was just the beginning of the high end album's varied  and unexpected sounds. 

 Additional tracks begin with "closer," a moody figure with inspirational Afro beats, minimal percussion, and catchy lyrics. There's also the softly spoken "it's yours," a catchy hymn that combines rhythmic percussion and magical ensembles. Another standout was "imagine", Lay's silk-smooth rendition on R&B Barnburner, with the help of British rapper Aitch.  And then there's the "why", which stands out for its multi-layered, multi-textured ambitions, percussion transport, and effortless choral harmonies. The result is an elegant afrobeat fun filled with  meaning and loud music. Naturally, the deluxe edition also includes a new remix of his viral hit "soso" featuring reggaeton superstar Ozuna, which has garnered over 240 million global streams. 

  Boy Alone also boasts  hit singles "attention" featuring Justin Bieber, "woman" and "understand" - which has garnered attention from The New York Times, HYPEBEAST, The FADER, Billboard, NME, and more. In recognition of his talent and hard work, Lay was nominated for the 2022 NAACP Image Award for "Outstanding International Song". 

 

 A sought-after collaborator, Omah Lay has also lent her instantly recognizable vocals on a string of notable Afrobeats hits this year, including Libianca's "People", "Soweto". " by Tempoe, "Philo" by Bella Shmurda and he recently sang. with Big Boss Vette in "I Can't Stop", introduced in the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse soundtrack. With Boy Alone Deluxe, Lay expands on his hits, digs deeper and shares new insights that hint at big things to come with the Nigerian star.
